SUBNET is looking for a Systems Engineer to perform engineering, integration services, and training activities (including travel to customer sites).
Position Responsibilities:
- Perform engineering, integration services and training activities, including travel to customer sites
- Perform public speaking in the form of product training programs
- Install and maintain SUBNET software, in an Electric Utility (i.e. Substation and Generation facilities)
- Self manage fieldwork in the form of SCADA/HMI system configurations
- Provide technical product demonstrations in collaboration with sales team
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of SUBNET training course content
- Liaise with Sales and Business Development to generate new opportunities for SUBNET services and products
- Manage customer relationship through the effective use of technical knowledge to address customer inquiries and concerns
- Provide start-up and troubleshooting assistance to customers
- Participate with minimal supervision on service projects
- Mentoring of interns and Junior E.I.T.s
- Expand expertise on all SUBNET product offerings
Desired Qualifications:
- Minimum of three years of field experience
- Degree/Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Computer Instrumentation.
- Engineering technologist, technician or plant/industrial electrician will also be considered
- P.Eng is an asset, not required
- Prepared and eager to travel approximately 1-2 weeks a month
- Knowledge of Substation Automation and SCADA design
- Knowledge of industrial communication networking technologies such as Modbus, DNP3, TCP/IP
- Customer centric with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Competent in the use of Microsoft Office suite, Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio
- Strong team player with a desire to learn
- Desire and capacity to work independently
- Ability to travel internationally
- Windows Server 2003 experience
- Microsoft Terminal Services/Citrix experience
- Human Machine Interface (HMI) installations and configuration experience
- Remote Terminal Unit (RTU) installation and configuration experience
